Growing together

Good hosts for generations

Our hotel stands for true hospitality like no other hotel in the Zillertal. For generations we have been working hand in hand with our motivated staff to ensure the well-being of our guests. Your well-being is the most important thing to us! Every day we want to make your holiday in the Zillertal a little bit better. From the first ‘Grüß Gott’ to the sincere ‘Auf Wiedersehen’, we are there for you. This is how welcome guests become recognised regular guests. And regular guests become friends.

As a family, we would like to cordially invite you to our traditional business. Like our family, our hotel has grown over several generations. As a result, we not only think about today, but also always keep an eye on tomorrow. This allows us to make responsible and sustainable decisions that will have an impact in the future. The satisfaction of our employees is just as important to us as the satisfaction of our guests. We are proud of the entire team at the Hotel Post, who make our vision of a feel-good place in the Zillertal come true.

Feel good in Kaltenbach

We have succeeded in turning the Hotel Post in Kaltenbach into a refuge of good taste. We focus on quality rather than quantity and still spoil our guests with countless inclusive services.

The history of our house

To tell the story of our hotel, we have to look far back into the past. Because the roots of true hospitality at the Höllwarth family hotel in the Zillertal go back almost two centuries.

At the end of the 18th century, our hotel was first mentioned as Gasthaus Standl. The inn with adjoining farm was called ‘Kalberer’. Guests were catered for and drinks were also served. With the expansion of the postal route network, Gasthaus Standl became Gasthaus Post. The stagecoaches brought the first guests to Kaltenbach. The post office, which was run by the owner family at the time, was also located directly in the Gasthof Post.

Maria and Hermann Höllwarth took over the business in 1941. During the Second World War, the neighbouring stable was destroyed by a bomb, but the house was spared. With the upturn in tourism in the Zillertal, the former ‘Gashaus Post’ was demolished in 1969 and rebuilt in 1972 as an accommodation facility with 30 beds. Through several conversions and extensions, the business was expanded to 150 beds and brought up to the latest standards of a 4-star hotel.

The last major renovation took place in 2013, creating the large 1,000-square-metre Post Pamper Oasis and many other innovations, such as the modern dining room with a spacious stone buffet, our in-house laundry and the expansion of our kitchen, from which we still benefit today.
