Lake Achensee is one of the best cross-country skiing areas in Tyrol. The different levels of difficulty of the trails and the beautiful natural surroundings are sure to enchant and captivate you. The area around Lake Achensee offers more than 200 kilometres of cross-country trails and provides you with unique cross-country skiing fun. In the 5 villages around Lake Achensee (Achenkirch, Maurach, Pertisau, Steinberg, Wiesing) each village has its own cross-country ski trail - these offer skating and classic routes.
In Pertisau there is a practice trail where anyone who has never been on cross-country skis before can test how these narrow skis work and practise their first steps. There are also barrier-free cross-country ski trails at Lake Achensee, which means they have been specially groomed for cross-country sledging. Of course, there is also room for man's best friend, the dog, on the cross-country ski trails.
